Our cooks pride themselves on providing high quality, home-made traditional food, using local produce which is fresh and seasonal. Mealtimes are such an important part of the day; they are designed and protected so that you can eat comfortably and enjoy your food. Meals can be taken in our dining rooms or in your room and complimentary Sherry is offered every day before lunch.
Choice and variety are incorporated into the menu planning. A balance of poultry, fish and red meat is carefully selected for our six week rolling menu which is reviewed for seasonal produce. Other diets are catered for such as vegetarians, coeliac and other food allergies. Our focus is on traditional fare; however, we also hold various themed events throughout the year, which enables our residents to sample a variety of multi cultural dishes.
For breakfast you can choose from a full cooked English breakfast to a continental breakfast with a choice of cereal, grapefruit, prunes, fruit juice, toast, crumpets, and eggs. The lunchtime dinner menu offers a starter, a choice of two main courses, a sweet trolley containing choices of dessert and tea or coffee. The teatime menu offers a choice of sandwiches or an alternative option for that day; this differs daily and examples are ploughman’s salad, fish and chips, jacket potato, and poached egg on toast.
Throughout the day refreshments are served including homemade biscuits and afternoon cake. Additional drinks and snacks can be requested throughout the day and night as required
Dining with your family
You are welcome to invite your family or friends to dine with you. Here they can join you for lunch for a small charge. Particularly residents are encouraged to invite their friends and family over for tea at anytime, it is especially fun when friends and family join us on our themed nights.
